Public weather warnings and advisories from Sri Lanka's Department of Meteorology.

Methodology

Lankawa reads the public Weather Advisory System dashboard JSON (`/dashboard-api/advisories`) and CAP RSS (`/cap/en/rss.xml`) with short server-side timeouts. When RSS items are present, linked CAP 1.1 XML files are fetched (capped) to enrich urgency/severity/certainty, instruction, and area text. Advisories remain the active source of truth; CAP-only rows appear only when the dashboard lists no hazards but CAP publishes items. There is no curated seed fallback — unavailable means the advisory API failed; empty means the dashboard reports no active hazards.
